Steampunkelier
Steampunkelier

Thomas Edison meets Buck Rogers meets Captain Nemo. I was commissioned by the Sun Peaks Center for Art and Sustainability to build a lighting fixture that was fun and crazy. I instantly thought "steampunk". The large room is adorned with Star Warsian murals and clear plexiglass aquarium-like structures filled with arty sea creatures and coral. The SPCAS is the brainchild of Ray Armstrong and his business sidekick, Marne Alder. Ray is the owner of this incredible home/facility which is filled with incredible one-of-a-kind pieces of art, so my piece had to be special to hold its own.

Counterweights
Counterweights

Many clocks rely on the downward force of counterweights to make them run. The clock is really unusual and funky so I built these equally as funky and steampunky.

Curtis Master Bath
Curtis Master Bath

An Asian look and feel was important to the Curtis family. Space management and efficiency was also a priority. The clean look of natural maple with a clear semigloss lacquer finish was perfect for this project. Large slab doors, dark Asian-style handles and special vessel sinks add to this installation's simple style.

This 89" tall sliding bathroom "barn" door weighs about 150 pounds, yet glides effortlessly via the high-tech wheel and bar system.

Alice Bench
Alice Bench

Named for its Alice in Wonderland "Mad Hatter" appearance, the Alice Bench is constructed from premium American cherry. Built for a home with 16-foot ceilings, it was important that Alice be tall in stature to fit the space. Alice is over six feet tall and four feet wide. Designed as a freestyle piece, it has traditional Queen Anne legs. The bench is adorned with LED light strips on the bottom of the kid glove leather seat and behind the back slats which gives it a mysterious glow on the floor and wall behind.
